Its like a thousand suns shine when you smile,
like so many rivers meander when you walk.
Its the way a million birds chirp when you sing,
like a million flowers bloom when you talk.
Its the way life is when you are with me,
safe and happy and special and serene.
Its the way I feel when you are with me,
more blessed than I've ever been.
What goes on in my heart is so much more,
these are just some thoughts that passed by.
The depth of what I feel for you,
the lines I wrote don't justify.
I only pray He gives me the strength,
to tell you how much you mean to me.
But if I don't, I'll live this life,
and think thats the way it will have to be...

They are meant to be that way...
It all began on a fateful summer day.
They didn’t know love was coming their way.
It was the 1st day of college, they met in the canteen.
And hence began the tale like very few have been.
Soon they were best friends, but no one gave them a chance.
They said: how different is it? Its just another college romance!
But for them, it was different, really meant to be.
The kinda romance you would only find in a movie.
One day she asked him what made him soar?
What was it that brought him ashore?
What was his salvation, what was the key?
What was that which could set his heart free?
He said: sweetheart you know how I feel.
This love, these feelings… nothing can be more real.
If I could dedicate all my prayers to just one thing, it would be…
That every morning I wake up, I find you beside me.
Bereft of words, teary-eyed, she nodded her head.
A couple of months later, these kids were wed.
Months passed, so did many-a-year.
They had kids and grand-kids, who were so very dear.
They were old and wrinkled, a beautiful life they had lead.
He was about to die, and on his death bed,
He asked her if all her wishes had come true.
She said: yes, coz I grew old with you…
He is long gone now, but still lives on,
in her thoughts and feelings, still making her strong.
As she awaits the fateful day,
When she will be with him,
Coz they are meant to be that way…

National Holiday
So... Holiday eh? Had a party yesterday, drinks ‘n’ all? Got up today, went for the hoisting, had a few sweets, wished a few people and played a few patriotic songs? Besides that, how many times in the past few hours did you actually think about the nation? Or, for that matter, how much do you do so in general?
What was the last thing you did for the country, or rather, NOT do? Did you NOT throw the packet of chips you just ate by the side of the road, or did you brag about how other countries are so neat and clean? Did you NOT take bribe and pushed the application of a non-deserving person forward and thereby, let an able and needy soul down, or did you discuss in your circle about how honest other countries are? Did you NOT have nasty thoughts about a girl in your office, in your neighborhood or someone you just saw on the road, or did you acknowledge the freedom women enjoy in the west. Did you NOT ditch XYZ India Ltd. and joined some foreign firm, or did you bitch about “brain drain”? Did you NOT jump a traffic signal or a queue, or did the amount of order elsewhere amaze you?
Most people have this impression that any small thing they do does not matter. In doesn’t take a genius to recognize how wrong they are. Every little thing you do contributes to improving your life, as well as that of the nation. Infrastructure, primary education, cleanliness, order and many other factors that define a country are in the hands of us, the people who ARE the country. Doesn’t the fact that in the past 7 years, we haven’t been able to recognize even a single person for our highest civilian honor bother you?
We can do much better than bitching about things, we are all capable of it, and we know it. Be a part of India’s surge ahead, and do whatever you can, even small things make a difference.
